School Council

/At St Joseph's School community values the active involvement of parents in the life of the school. The School Council is an organisation within the school that enables the active engagement of community members to further the fulfilment of the school's vision and mission.

The School Council works in consultation with the school principal to:

  • nurture the catholic culture of the school
  • respond to the pastoral needs in the community
  • provide support for capital development and maintenance projects
  • implementation of local and diocesan strategic plans
  • monitor the budget and finances

The Council is ever aware of its responsibility to provide sound advice to the Principal in areas where it is sought and its members are actively committed to promoting and representing the interests of the school in the broader community.

The structure and function of the Council follows Diocesan School Council Constitution guidelines. Members are elected to the Council with each appointment being for a minimum term of 2 years. Following the call for nominations Office Bearers are elected at the Annual General Meeting held in December of each year. Members of the Council are invited to nominate for portfolios which match their special interests and skills.
